2011 Season Calendar:

May 7: 2nd Annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser 9am-noon at the new Saturday market site at N. Interstate and N. Lombard in the De La Salle H.S. lot. Bring Mom and the whole family for a day-before-Mother’s-Day breakfast! Blueberry pancakes, bacon, and juice or coffee are just $7 per person or $24 per family. If you can’t make it, we hope you will still support us as we support small farmers, the local economy, and community building.

May 18: Opening Day Celebration - Overlook Market. 3pm-7pm fresh produce, live music by the Shook Twins, a cooking demonstration, and lots more!

May 21: Opening Day Celebration - Lombard Market. 9am-1:30pm help us kick off the fist ever market day of the Lombard market! Get the kids, neighbors, and passersby and walk or bike to the new neighborhood market. The vendors are ready and waiting for you, and the music is playing…come be part of history!

June 25th Community Bike Ride to the Lombard Market! Meet at 10am at Columbia Park at the Kids Water Park (near N. Winchell & N. Woolsey) and join us for a safe & easy ride to the market together. All abilities & non-car transportation welcome…no one left behind. At the market there will be a Strawberry Jam making & canning demonstration, the Peninsula Odd Fellows will be at the Community Booth, and We Sick Boss will be in the music tent. Collage making activity going on at the Kids Tent.

July 2nd: Educate Ya tables at the Community Booth, arts & crafts at the Kids Tent

July 6th: Seniors Day! Free raffle for seniors to win: home canning sets, cook books, tote bags & more! Ignacio Gonzalas performs in the music tent, Metropolitain Family Services tables at the Community Booth.

July 9th: Pickled carrots canning demonstration, IRCO Senior Services tabling at the Community Booth

July 13th: Flor Fernandez performing, Physicians for Social Responsibility tabling at the Community Booth

July 16th: Kids Day! Kids Aikido demonstration, Peninsula Odd Fellows tabling at the Community Booth, lots of fun & games at the Kids Tent!

July 20th: BerryFest! Ms. Ima Blueberry will be at the market handing out free blueberry-related items, we will have a berry-themed cooking demonstration, and lots of free berry samples! Friends of Trees will be tabling at the Community Booth.

July 23rd: Cynthia Alexander performs

July 27th: We Sick Boss performs, Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods tables at the Community Booth
